Read MoreThis is the 2nd edition of the Young Climate Leaders Project (YCLAP) and is a joint initiative of Bakul Foundation with UNICEF and Youth 4 Water Plus and the U.S. Consulate General, Hyderabad. 10 young leaders will be selected, who will go through a 9 month long leadership journey in which they will work on their climate action projects. The top 3 projects will also get a small seed grant to take it further.
Some of the members of the first edition of YCLAP got wonderful opportunities to become climate leaders at an international level. 3 of them, Deepsha Dhal, Soumya Ranjan Biswal and Jayprakash Nayak were among the 20 Climate Champions from India chosen to be part of the International CACN (Climate Action Champions Network) created by ORF and the US Embassy. Soumya went on the prestigious IVLP (International Visitor Leadership Programme) of the US Dept of State. Bishal Mohanty and Soumya participated in an International Tech Camp for Climate Solutions.
BAKUL has started a podcast series, THE CLIMATE NETWORK in collaboration with STUDIO IO, with an attempt to inspire people to climate action by highlighting the work of heroes of the global climate change movement.
